Technical insight | The refrigerants of the future arrive from the past
13.7.2021
The history of refrigerant fluids is tied to double wire the evolution of refrigeration cycle equipment.
It all began at the end of the 19th century, when the first refrigerating machines were designed and used principally for producing ice, transport and distribute easily perishable food and allow the production of other goods without seasonal restriction.
The choice of refrigerant was based on the availability and ease of use of fluids such as Anhydride Carbonic (CO2), Propane (R290) and other natural gases. The primary needs of human being have therefore given the impetus necessary for the evolution of technology which, up today, does not stop improving the quality, the efficiency and environmental impact of the machines refrigerator.
